Sensory Integration

"the neurological process that organizes sensation from one's own body and from the environment and makes it possible to use the body effectively within the environment.”

by Dr. A. Jean Ayers

  • In short it refers to the way “the nervous system receives messages from the senses and turns them into appropriate motor and behavioral responses.”
  • The senses are touch, sound, sight, taste & smell. Also vestibular (movement & balance sense) & proprioception (joint or muscle sense) are other two powerful sense.

Indoor Play

Young children learn to understand the world around them by playing. As tiny babies they will begin to play by exploring their fingers. Toddlers start to play with toys like shape sorters, stacking up cups or rings. Through such simple game they learn the most complex things like hand-eye co-ordination, explore sounds, shapes, space and sizes.

As they get older, children begin to play increasingly elaborate games and by the time they are three years old they are engineers building skyscrapers with blocks, teachers teaching rhymes, alphabet and numbers or even a mommy or daddy who takes care of the little ones!!

Watching, exploring, asking a million and one questions, they are learning about how everything works at home and outside. As they play, their understanding unfolds and they learn important lessons from how to hop, to how to make and lose friends.

Outdoor Play

Children gain enormous benefits from learning outdoors. Being outdoors allows them to move around without many of the restrictions of being inside. They can use all of their senses to appreciate the colours, smells, different sounds, touch and the sense of space and of scale. Being outdoors supports confidence and allows opportunities for big scale play, problem-solving and creativity in the company of other children.

Motor development is enhanced when children put hopping, galloping, sliding, bouncing, kicking throwing and catching into practise. We carefully incorporate outdoor play with play with social interactions and problem solving. The outdoors supports active learning and when balanced with quiet areas for reflection can enhance children’s learning

At Kidsogenius, we recognize that the preschool environment is a chief ingredient in the learning experience of young children. Thus, we have prepared the learning environment that is fun, supportive and encouraging for our children. We implement innovative teaching methods and materials to achieve maximum results from our children with minimum pressure.

Music & Movement

Music and movement is the use of rhythmic song and dance, and is beneficial for childhood development. Singing or chanting can help make routine activities and transitions, such as gathering children into a circle or group activities, smoother and more enjoyable. Music helps to set a mood. Quiet, soothing music calms and relaxes children, while a lively marching tune rouses and energizes them. Music and movement are also activities that help children feel part of the group.
